Dr. Tom Bolton, author of London's Lost Rivers Volumes 1 and 2, leads a walk tracing part of the buried River Tyburn, from Baker Street to Vauxhall Bridge. The Tyburn is one of London’s lost rivers, buried to accommodate the sprawling city and West End – but it still flows beneath the streets.

Re-scheduled date: SAVE Britain’s Heritage and Twentieth Century Society and George Mayer-Marton’s ‘Oldham Mural’ in Context Tour.
A tour led by Howard Smith with experts Dr Judith LeGrove and Henrietta Billings, to see the 1955 ‘Oldham Mural’, at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Oldham. We will also visit two further churches on post-war estates in Greater Manchester to reveal unexpected masterpieces.

Event - Conservation in the Eye of the Media: Mansion House Square Revisited - 8th November
SAVE and the Twentieth Century Society are delighted to announce a new joint event on the highly contentious demolition of the Mappin & Webb building in the heart of the Square Mile.
Please join us for a screening of the original 1985 BBC Omnibus programme looking at the demolition of the listed Victorian buildings in the City of London, followed by a discussion between participants at the time and current conservation practitioners, including Sir Terry Farrell, Robert Thorne, Dr. Jenny Freeman and Sophie Andreae.
