JOIN THE WAITING LIST

Join SAVE and former Design and Heritage Manager for London Underground, Mike Ashworth, for an architectural tour of the 1930s Piccadilly Line Northern extensions - part of work on the line at the time to extend its reach into new suburban territory. We will commence our journey at the historic Holloway Road Underground station, adorned with Leslie Green's iconic tiled designs, before venturing northward to appreciate the revered modernist creations of Charles Holden. We will be visiting iconic Modernist stations including Turnpike Lane, Wood Green, Arnos Grove, Southgate, Oakwood and Cockfosters to consider the importance of these stations to British architecture as well as of their North European antecedents.

Tickets:              Friends & Saviours £16, General Public £19 (incl. Eventbrite booking fee)

Meet:                  Holloway Road Tube Station (N7 8HS) at 11am

Activity Level required: Participants need to be able to cope with busy trains and a considerable time on foot; standing or walking. There are a lot of station steps.

*Please note that there are very limited spaces available and a valid travel card or topped up Oyster is required for the day covering Zones 2-5.
