SAVE Christmas Carol Service

SAVE Britain's Heritage is delighted to invite you to a festive evening of Christmas carols and readings in St Mary le Strand on Thursday 5th December 2019 from 6pm. We will be joined by the superb Vox Cordis choir who have a wide range of repertoire and have sung in historic buildings such as Westminster Abbey, Norwich Cathedral and Wilton's Music Hall.

About SAVE Britain's Heritage

SAVE is a charity with a strong, independent voice in conservation that has been campaigning to protect threatened historic buildings and promote sustainable reuses since 1975. We are at the forefront of national heritage conservation. We intervene to help historic buildings and places in serious danger of demolition or decay. We stand apart from other organisations by bringing together architects, engineers, planners and investors to offer viable alternative proposals.

About St Mary le Strand

St Mary Le Strand, was built in 1714-17 to the designs of the great James Gibbs - his first building on his return from studying in Rome. In 2015 SAVE fought a successful battle to stop the demolition of the 'little houses' opposite St Mary le Strand, next to Somerset House and proposed pedestrianisation of part of the Strand. In January 2019 SAVE welcomed proposals unveiled by Westminster City Council to pedestrianise a 200m stretch of the Strand in central London. These plans will create wonderful views and better accessibility of St Mary le Strand.
