Hastings Pier, which featured in our 2008 Buildings at Risk catalogue Cherish or Perish, stands in a serious condition following a devastating fire. Although unlisted the building was recognised for the important contribution that it made to Hastings and it was the hope of many that it could be successfully restored.
A raging fire took grip of the building on the night of 4 October 2010. It is estimated that 95% of the structure has been damaged.
