SAVE Jubilee Line Extension Stations

Join SAVE Britain's Heritage for a special event celebrating the award winning design and architecture of the Jubilee Line Extension stations. Led by former head of heritage at Transport for London, Mike Ashworth, we will visit many of the outstanding underground stations constructed as part of the extension.

Described as "the biggest architectural sensation of their kind since the Moscow Underground’' when they opened in 1999, this special event will celebrate these stations following the successful SAVE campaign in 2017 to stop the major demolition of Southwark Station. The stations on the line were commissioned by Roland Paoletti for London Underground, soon after he completed the impressive new Metro in Hong Kong. He chose a group of talented architects both established and at the beginning of their careers - including Hopkins Architects (Westminster), MacCormac (Southwark), North Greenwich (Will Alsop) and Canary Wharf (Foster + Partners).
