Join SAVE Britain's Heritage on a special visit to Wentworth Woodhouse and the park, lakes and follies on Wednesday 16th May 2018.

Wentworth Woodhouse is SAVE's greatest success story. Come with us and explore this house as major restoration work begins, and hear from Marcus Binney, executive president of SAVE, about the thirty year campaign to save it. We will also visit some of the extraordinary monuments and eye-catchers in the grounds of the estate.

Itinerary:
10:45 - 11:00 Arrive at Wentworth Woodhouse
11:00 - 13:00 Private tour of the house, taking in the state rooms, private rooms and restoration works
13:00 - 14:30 Lunch and a glass of wine in the Long Gallery, and a talk by Marcus Binney
14:30 - 16:30 Tour of the stables and park, lakes, temples and follies
16:30 Tour ends. The minibus will be returning to Doncaster Train Station

Travel and Minibus Details

SAVE will be providing a minibus transfer to and from Doncaster train station. The minibus will be meeting the London Kings Cross train departing 08.35, which arrives at Doncaster at 10:12. If you are travelling by train from elsewhere, the minibus is meeting this train and will leave the station at 10:20, so please ensure your train arrives by 10:15. A minibus will then take people from the station to Wentworth Woodhouse, arriving at the house just before 11am.

The minibus will be returning to Doncaster train station to meet the 17:47 train, arriving at Kings Cross at 19:34.

If you are coming by car, there is plenty of parking at the house.
