• The General Market (1883) and the adjacent Fish market and "Red House" must be spotlisted immediately for both their group value and intrinsic interest as the finest group of market buildings in the country

• Plans for the comprehensive redevelopment of the site must be shelved indefinitely

• Urgent maintenance works must be carried out by the City Corporation on the scandalously neglected General market and adjacent historic market buildings

• The City Corporation must adopt the strategy put forward by Urban Space Management, which has worked so succesfully at Camden Lock, Spitalfields Market and Gabriel's Wharf
